Spanish painter , 1849-1916 was a Spanish painter, and one of the most prominent artists of Valencia from the end of the nineteenth century, working in the Impressionist style. Born into a poor family, Pinazo was forced from a young age to assist in supporting the family by practising various trades. He had only attended eight grades when his mother died of the cholera, and young Ignazio was variously employed as a silversmith, a painter of tiles, and a decorator of fans. After his father's death, he lived with his grandparents, and in 1864 enrolled in the San Carlos Academy of Fine Arts, Valencia, earning his living as a hatter. His artistic career started when he was 21, and he achieved his first success in Barcelona three years later. In 1871, work by him was displayed in the National Exhibition of Fine Arts for the first time. He visited Rome twice, the first time (1873) thanks to the sale of a painting. From 1876 to 1881 he lived in that city on a grant. Francois Flameng
French 1858-1932, He was a very successful French painter during the last quarter of the 19th century and the first quarter of the 20th. He was the son of a celebrated engraver and received a first-rate education in his craft. Flameng initially received renown for his history painting and portraiture, and became a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts. He decorated such important civic buildings as the Sorbonne and the Opera Comique, and also produced advertising work.
Theodore Gudin
French Painter, 1802-1880 was a French painter of the 19th century. He especially painted navy scenes, and was a pupil of Girodet-Trioson. Gudin was one of the first Peintres de la Marine, at the court of Louis-Philippe and Napoleon III.
Bernaert de Ryckere
Bernaert de Rijckere (c1535, Kortrijk - 1590, Antwerp), was a Flemish Renaissance painter. According to Karel van Mander he was born in Kortrijk and was admired there for an altarpiece depicting Christ bearing the cross, which he made for the St. Marten's church of the brothers of the Cross there. He later took on a different style that Karel van Mander had heard of but had not seen to be able to judge it for himself. He said he moved to Antwerp and joined the Guild of St. Luke there in 1561. According to the Netherlands Institute for Art History he was the teacher of his son, the painter Abraham de Rijcke, and is known for landscapes and historical allegories.
